About

Small business lessons describes my endeavors in the interesting and sophisticated world of small business. Most of my activities were online or software but some were more of the “traditional” kind. Not many of these bore fruit and succeeded, so I’ve got quite a few lessons to learn out of these experiences. I believe you will find my stories educational or, on the other hand, you’ll have some advice for me. If you like these articles and you have some experience to share please send me your lessons and I’ll get them posted here.

I’ll be also bring some of the more interesting articles that can help small business owners, especially those, who struggle in the online arena.

So, what’s my story?

I grew up in a “regular” family with two working parents of the non-entrepreneurial kind, received good technical education in school and an Electrical Engineering degree in the University but my hobby from about the age of 9 was computer and especially programming. I’ve started on such computers as ZX-Spectrum and then moved onto the PC. I’ve learned BASIC, Pascal, 8086 Assembler, C and C++, Delphi and then moved to scripting languages Perl and Ruby. I’ve also done web programming on Perl, PHP, ASP.Net and Ruby on Rails. I’ve switched to a Mac in 2005, and consequently learned Objective-C to produce software on that program.

Yet, I’ve been also fascinated with the world of business. But being raised in non-business family and having no relatives or friends doing business I had to learn all by myself, mostly in the field on personality development and even basic business knowledge.

On this site you will read my various attempts in my various ventures. Enjoy the reading.

Sincerely,
Jacob.
